Our Story
MDR. What does it stand for? Minimum daily requirements? Miserable, disastrous, and rotten? No — Marie, Danny, and Ronnie is what it stands for.
MDR Electrical Supply was born from humble beginnings. Marie Malkenson, mother of Dan and Ron, started the business right out of her garage. With nothing but drive and determination, Marie loaded up her station wagon and hit the streets — going on to become the clamp-light queen of Canal Street. She was the tough-minded businesswoman behind it all, and she is fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Where We Are Today
What started in a garage has grown into one of the tri-state area's most trusted wholesale electrical distributors. Today, MDR Electrical Supply proudly operates out of our facility in Bergenfield, New Jersey, serving hardware stores and building suppliers across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
For over 40 years, we have been the behind-the-scenes partner that keeps hardware store shelves stocked and building supply businesses running. We don't sell to the public or contractors — our focus is entirely on you, the wholesale buyer.
